El Limonar International School, established in 1990, is a fully private, English and Spanish bilingual school for students from ages 3 to 18. Although the majority of students are Spanish, there are over 20 nationalities of worldwide origin. Steve’s trip was to give the children ranging from 6 to 10 year olds a little insight into the world of book illustrating and writing, letting the children meet an artist for the first time, who wasn’t just a name on the inside of a book, but a real person who could actually react with them, and more importantly answer many of the questions that they had already prepared. Steve awarded certificates to several students who had exceeded in their reading capabilities.

The three separate classes were also given a small drawing competition which was undertaken by over 100 children. Steve was very impressed indeed with the school and also how splendidly the children reacted to his visit and how well they behaved, a real credit to both the teachers and their head mistress.
